A 23-year-old musician from Harare's Mbare township has taken Zimbabwe and the broader southern African region by storm after winning a prestigious regional music competition, taking home a prize of $50,000 USD.
Takudzwa "Taku Beats" Moyo, who produces afrobeats and urban grooves fusion music from a makeshift studio in his family home, beat 500 other contestants from 12 African countries to claim the top prize at the Pan-African Music Talent Search.
